Venus, the planet of love and beauty, is about the power of attraction and the creative force within us. It is about the luxuries and comforts of life, and is the indicator of the wife in a man’s chart and of relationships in general. Venus rules the signs of Taurus and Libra, where in the former it is about material comforts and security and in the latter it is about diplomacy and balance in relationships.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and is about being a pioneer and a trailblazer. It is ruled by Mars, providing energy to push forward with initiatives. Ashwini is the first nakshatra symbolized by two headed horsemen, ruled by Ketu and is about fast movement. It is also the first nakshatra with a gadanta (transition from water to fire sign) point. This can represent new terrain and can make one progress without careful deliberation.
Venus in Aries is about initiating a new start in love and relationships. Rahu represents the unexpected and throws a wrench into normal routines, creating a bump in the road. Venus with Rahu can make one initiate or move forward with relationships without knowing all the facts. Rahu can make things seem exciting, new and foreign but can also hide the truth underneath the glamor presented. One can think they have all bits and pieces to make an informed decision, but then can have the rug pulled out when least expected. This transit can also make one have high expectations in relationships, feeding dissatisfaction as expectations may be unrealistic and not therefore not met.

Venus has multiple factors working against it, including a troubled sign lord (Mars is an enemy to Mercury, ruler of Gemini), conjunction with Rahu and Saturn’s aspect. Venus gets relief when it moves out of Aries to its own sign of Taurus on April 5.
